Our course differs tremendously from the major Airline’s Fear of flying courses. You will have a 1 to 1 experience with a qualified pilot. This enables a relaxed environment and in turn will make you feel at ease. You are encouraged to ask any questions, no matter how trivial you think they are and at any point during the course.
Using our fixed base simulator, which is an exact 1:1 scale replica of a Boeing 737-800 cockpit, you can experience the sounds and feel of this impressive plane without ever leaving the ground. These include the feel and noise of the plane taking off, the feel of the plane when flying including turbulence, noise from the cabin and instructions from the pilot’s and the feel of the plane descending when coming into land and the relief of the plane landing safely on the tarmac!
You can see some of our previous customer feedback at the bottom of this page.
So what does the course consist of?
When you arrive at the friendly and welcoming entrance to Jet Sim School you will be greeted by the instructor of your course. You will be made to feel at ease and will complete a briefing that will last around 20 minutes. The briefing tells you what to expect from the course, provides you with the opportunity to ask questions and help you to relax.
You will be shown into the flight simulator which is an exact replica of a 737-800 cockpit, it’s completely realistic and you’ll find it hard to believe that you’re not in the real thing. We have also added an 8 seat passenger cabin with working window views so you really can get the full flight experience from passenger to pilot.
You will then experience a 90 minute (approximately) flight that will enable you to feel what it’s like to be airborne without actually leaving the ground. You can ask questions throughout the flight and even take control of the plane if you feel comfortable doing so, although you'll never be pressured.
After the flight you will have a de-brief. This is where you can talk about the flight with your pilot, discuss what you enjoyed and ask any other questions you have. Most people experience a big sense of achievement at this point as they have completed the flight without any worries or anxiety and can go home and book that dream holiday!
